Summerbreeze is blowing through my window....

Lately the weather outside has been so warm and wonderful that it's definitely giving me a little bit of Spring Fever! I still have quite a bit going on in my life right now, with classes and finishing up projects for school, money/budgeting issues because I was so sick last month and I'm still playing catch-up, and trying to schedule everything else in between. Right now, though, I'm really excited to look past all of these stressors and think about all the things I can't wait for this summer.

- I'm going to be switching my schedule this summer, so I will only be working every other weekend, and then working some weekdays every other week. I can't wait to use this extra time to see people I don't normally get to see with my current work schedule. I'm especially excited because this way I'll get to visit my dad more often, without having to take extra time off of work.

- I'm very excited for two new Harry Potters, the newest movie which comes out this summer, and then the final book, which I look forward to with bittersweet emotions. I've been waiting forever, and I'll be happy and sad to see it end.

- This summer my family and I are meeting my brother, Bryan, in Chelan for several days. My family really hasn't had many chances at vacation post-divorce, until last summer. Ocean Shores was great last year, and I'm sure Chelan will be even better. And the best part is we have reservations for all three dogs at the pet lodge we used to take Mo to, so we won't have to worry about annoying our neighbors, and we know our loves will be taken good care of.

- Laini and I want to take all sorts of classes this summer at the craft store. We want to take sewing, knitting, crocheting, furniture upholstery, and cake decorating. We'll also have time to work on our book, and our umbrella project. I can't wait.

- I'm also excited to have time to talk to Adina, helping plan her wedding. We can do anything on a budget with enough time and imagination.

- Warped Tour. I can't wait to go this year, with Ryan, Laini and Caleb, and this year we're going to go camping the night before. That should be a ton of fun. I didn't get to go last year, so I'm excited.

Well, I guess it's nearing classtime, and I should be finishing this up. I'm not super-excited to go to class, but the quarter's almost done! I can't wait.

News!

Today I have very exciting news. This morning I went to the Rose House in Tacoma to interview for my practicum placement for next year. The Rose House is a clubhouse for the mentally ill. I spent all day there sitting in on meetings, helping make lunch, talking to members and staff, and participating in a group interview. It was a really fun day, and I connected with a lot of really great people.

After the house meeting in the afternoon the director called me into his office, and told me he felt I was a really good fit, and that the staff and members agreed. He officially offered me the spot for next fall. I am very excited to continue to work with the members, as well as to be part of their outreach program. Basically I will be traveling with a club house member to different mental illness patients in hospitals and group homes in the area and working on goal planning and encouraging them to come into the Rose House.

I am so super excited, and relieved to have the process out of the way.
